J528
Mine - by the Right of the White Election!
Mine - by the Royal Seal!
Mine - by the sign in the Scarlet prison -
Bars - cannot conceal!
Mine - here - in Vision - and in Veto!
Mine - by the Grave's Repeal -
Titled - Confirmed -
Delirious Charter!
Mine - long as Ages steal!
c. 1862 1890
This poem makes an interesting comparison with J327. Both are expressions of the psychology of renunciation. Here however, she use the pronoun "mine" to emphasize how much she gains through her freely taken choice to renounce normal satisfactions in favour of a spiritual, that is, poetic, fulfilment.
